10 favorite photo's of 2013!

It is 2014!  I can't believe it!  Where did 2013 go?   I wanted to mark my favorite images of the past year.   I've narrowed it down to 10 which was difficult.  So here we go!

This is Vance and he is a Rottie mix (or full bred?) rescue from Louie's Legacy.  He is a big goofball and this photo perfectly captured his silly side.  I'm happy to report that Vance was adopted and is living his happily ever after!

This is Jethro.  He was my first failed foster this year.  He is a beautiful Beagle-mix who gets into lots of mischief but also has a sweet and tender side.  And he is really, really loud.

Dan the Coonhound.  He was a Facebook sensation when his story hit social media.  Dan had spent about 10 of his 14 years at the Highland County Humane Shelter.  Luckily, the perfect family for Dan stepped up and adopted him.  I'm told he is now cuddling with his new owners on their sofa and taking daily walks on their 300 acre farm.  I hope your golden years are the best you've ever known Dan.

This was another one of our foster pups, Butch Cassidy.  Butch and his brother, Sherlock, spent a couple weeks at the Locey house before finding their furever homes.  Even though we only had them a short time, my husband and I grew to love them.   This photo tugs at my heart strings.  I encourage everyone to foster.  It's incredibly rewarding.

This is Chelsea and her two dogs, Heidi and Rhino.  Chelsea is the Ohio Director of Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue.  This was an impromptu session that I had to strong arm Chelsea into doing.  She thought she was too dirty from kennel duty and wasn't properly attired to have her photo taken.  I asked her to trust me that I would not do her wrong.  I knew Heidi was getting up there in years and I didn't want any regrets.   I think Chelsea looks radiant and beautiful and I know she loves this photo with her babies.

Daniel is another Louie's Legacy alumni.   I love this setting and I love this dog.  I don't get a chance to do a lot of B&W since I shoot mostly Rescue's.   This image begged for black and white.

This little guy is Benjamin and I photographed him for Naked K9 Rescue.  His foster mama found me on the HeARTs Speak website and asked if I would be willing to take some glamour shots of her fosters.  Ben stole my heart when he arrived at my house for his photo session.  He loves, loves, loves his treats!  He was my first "naked" model and I just love the graffiti background.

Many of you know who this little guy is...Peanut Butter!  He is our second failed foster.  I mean, how could we not adopt him?!  This is when he was about 4 months old and just...adorable doesn't describe him.  He has grown and changed a lot since this photo, but he is still just as cute.

Last but certainly not least, is this portrait of my son, daughter-in-law and my two grandpups Koda and Jack Jack.   I've been dying to take photo's of someone in these beautiful tall grasses and they were willing.  I love this image but I…

Last but certainly not least, is this portrait of my son, daughter-in-law and my two grandpups Koda and Jack Jack.   I've been dying to take photo's of someone in these beautiful tall grasses and they were willing.  I love this image but I love all the faces in this image more.

That wraps up my favorite top ten of 2013!   I appreciate all of my fans and followers and hope you continue to stay with me on my journey.

Carol Locey Photography has lots of exciting things planned for 2014!   Soon, I will be starting my 52 weeks project featuring Buttercup!    Watch for weekly blogs on our photographic adventures.

I also will be adding more sessions  to provide additional options for you to choose from.    One of the new sessions is my Timeless Session for your terminally ill and/or senior pet.   My wish is for everyone to have a beautiful piece of photographic art to loving immortalize your beloved pet.  I would be honored if you entrusted me to create that memory.

Here's wishing a happy, healthy and fun 2014 for you and your pets!

And always, adopt don't shop.  Please support your local Animal rescue.
